This summer Danos is hosting a group of interns in various departments at headquarters. We wanted the interns to get as much of the Danos experience as possible, so we hosted a volunteer event for them on July 14 at the Dulac Community Center.
The Dulac Community Center is a 2021 Danos GIVES grant recipient. This organization provides for its local community through monthly food distributions, a food bank on site, a thrift store, a recreational center, hurricane relief and so much more. You can learn more about Dulac Community Center or how you can get involved here.
Through this volunteer event, the nine interns along with Commercial Analyst and Intern Program Coordinator Brittney Fremin and Recruiter Paige Boudreaux spent a rainy morning at the community center helping distribute nonperishable food boxes to about 90 families in the Dulac community. Collectively, the group was able to log 22 hours through our Danos WORKS volunteer portal. These hours are helping us reach our goal this year of having 75 employees log 1,947 hours in honor of our 75th anniversary as a company.
Thank you to the volunteers and mentors who came together to help serve our community and represent Danos and the values we hold as a company.
And thank you to all employees who have volunteered within your communities and logged your hours through Danos WORKS. If you have hours that you would like to log in our volunteer portal, you can do so here. I encourage all field and staff employees to log any service hours. If you have questions about what is eligible, you can email me at kathryne.smith@danos.com to discuss. If you want to get involved but don’t know where to start, we list several volunteer opportunities on our website.
